MARCH - Mrs. Czopp’s First Grade

READING - WRITING - ARITHMETIC

Mrs. Czopp's First Grade class has discovered the magic of the printed word!  Did you know how much fun it is to use your imagination and write stories?  Did you know you must follow simple rules to write your stories the correct way?

PROPER NOUNS - a proper noun is the name of a person or a place.  Proper nouns start with a captial letter.

COMPLETE SENTENCES - Every sentence must have a subject and a verb.  Every sentence must end with the correct punctuation.

My First Grade authors write about Clifford!  Enjoy!

Clifford is very funny to play with.  He is very big and furry too!  He is funny and tall and helpful.  He is very gentle with my friends, too.  I love my dog Clifford.  He is very nice.     - Giannna

Do you know what I think about Clifford?  I think Clifford is brave.  I like Clifford.  I wish I had a Clifford for a pet too.  If I had Clifford for a pet, we would go everywhere together.  I think Clifford is very funny.

Hi! My name is Emily Elizabeth.  Have you met my friend Clifford?  Clifford jumps in the pool and all the water comes out!!  Then Clifford come out.  Then Clifford sits down and eats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.         - Patrick

Clifford is a funny dog.  Clifford likes to play at the beach a lot.  Elizabeth and Clifford like to go fishing.  When they went back home, they saw Grandma.  Clifford and Elizabeth played until night.  When they woke up, they went to the store.  It was fun!    - Michael

Now for some Presidential stories:

If I was President of the United States, I would stop everything that is mean.  I would always like to look outside the window and see how beautiful the country is.  I would give homes to the homeless.

If I was President of the United States, I would stay at the White House and do all the work I have.  When I am done, I would go bowling.        - Carly

If I was President of the United States, I would do all the work I needed to do.  I would make sure no one was sad.  I would also make sure I would come to the people who needed me right away.

If I were the President of the United States, I would live in the White House.  In the White House, I will dress in black and white clothes.  I would have GOLD phones!        - Luke
