JUNE NEWS
June is bursting out all over! It seems as though we just began preparing for the second half of the year and here we are closing our school year of 2012-13.
It has been a good year - full of new faces, praying, learning, service projects, activities, sports, fundraising, celebrating, etc.
St. John the Baptist Community wants to thank all of our parents/guardians and friends for supporting our projects and programs, fund raisers, driving chaperoning our field trips, filling our backpack mail folders, cutting our Box Tops for Education, Campbell Products, DASH receipts, coaching and cheering our teams, cooking our meals, monitoring the children in the cafeteria, and for the many little things you did for us. We are grateful and we hope you will continue to work with us.

LOOKING to VACATION...
Don't let vacation from school be a vacation from learning! Instead let this summer be a time for your family to enjoy the beauty of our world as it is found in art and music and to grow in understanding of the earth and its people through experiences, which have not been available during the school year.
"Take time to smell the flowers" is a phrase that indicates our need to appreciate and be aware of the beauty around us. Visits to the art museums and attendance at concerts can enhance appreciation of the fine arts. So, too, can books with collections of world-famous painting and recordings of music from other times and countries. If these can be part of your family activities this summer, you will surely be enriching your child's life.
As summer and school vacation brings changes in daily routine, perhaps this is the time to think about your weekend routine. Let Sunday be a family day, a day that begins with the entire family worshipping together and include activities fostering family love and sharing.
Whatever you choose to do , the way you spend the day as a family will make memories for our children!
