Educational Advisory Council

The Educational Advisory Council was formed several years ago with the purpose of acting as a consultative body to the Pastor and Principal. The Council is comprised of school parents, non-parents, parishioners, teachers, Mrs. Cynthia Jacobs, St. John's principal, and Father Michael Parker, our pastor. Partnering to make our children thrive.

The Educational Advisory Council is responsible for 5 standing committees.
The Strategic Planning committee is currently reviewing and updating the school's strategic plan.
The Marketing/PR committee coordinates marketing for the school. This committee recently created a new school brochure and is developing new ads for the local papers. This committee is responsible for both internal and external school promotion. The committee is currently exploring the possibility of upgrading the St. John's web site to make it more user-friendly for both parents and teachers.
The Communications/Customer Relations committee coordinates communication with current and prospective school families. In the past, this committee has coordinated pulpit talks about St. John's School at weekend Masses and has made follow-up phone calls to prospective families. In addition, this committee organizes the Angel Wings Program, which provides financial tuition support to families in need.
The Education/Student Life committee meets with Mrs. Jacobs periodically to review test data, curriculum/educational needs, and explore issues relating to the Student Life/Development of St. John's School.
The Development committee will be working with the new Director of Development to create an updated alumni database.
Educational Advisory Council meetings are held approximately every 6 weeks. For more information, the school office at 877-6401.
